Writer of Speculative Fiction
Alexandra Hill is a Polish-Canadian writer of stories, including fantasy, sci-fi, and horror. She recently won the Grand Prize in the 2019 Writer’s Digest Popular Fiction Awards for her short story, “A Life Measured in Moons”. She was published in the first JordanCon anthology in April 2019 alongside work by Seanan McGuire, Brandon Sanderson, and other wonderful authors.
Alexandra is an alumna of the UCLA Extension Certificate in Fiction, and of Gotham Writers workshops. She will be attending the Odyssey Writing Workshop in Summer 2020, and begin her MFA studies in Fiction at The New School in Fall 2020.
In her previous life, Alexandra earned a Ph.D. in Computational Biology at Columbia University, where she also completed a Bachelor’s degree in Biology and English Literature. She currently lives in New York City with the loves of her life: a grouchy scientist and a trove of books.
